Welcome to Shear Early Childhood Center

Welcome to the Shear Early Childhood Center!

Here at Shear, our goal is  to make sure that our youngest students are as well prepared for elementary school and beyond as possible. We are proud to offer the only school-based tuition-free Kindergarten Readiness Program in Wayne County, serving students who live in the South Redford school district who are at least 4 years old by September 1. The Program provides enrichment activities designed to encourage the development of readiness skills necessary for a successful kindergarten experience. For additional information on the program, please contact Barb Wyler or Ashley Wischmeyer at 313-535-4000, ext. 1036.

The Early Childhood Developmental Delay Program (ECDD) is offered to students ages three through five years with identified disabilities that require early intervention. The program goal is to provide children with an enriching curriculum and opportunities that promote educational success and enable our young students to become inquiring, independent learners, and successful kindergarten students. For additional information on the program, please contact the Department of Student Services at 313-535-4000, ext.1028.

Speech and language services are provided to our young students who require some support to encourage the development of age appropriate articulation, receptive language, and expressive language skills. Services are provided at on-site at Shear by a teacher of the speech and language impaired. For additional information on these services, please contact the Department of Student Services at 313-535-4000, ext.1028.

If you have any questions, please feel to contact me at anytime. Welcome again, and I look forward to working with you and your family.

Sincerely,
