I earned my undergraduate degree in elementary education at Michigan State University, my Masters is also from Michigan State University in Curriculum and Instruction. I earned a Specialist degree in Humanistic Psychology from The Center for Humanistic Studies and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies with subfields in Psychology and Curriculum and Instruction from Union Institute and University.

I joined South Redford School District in September, 1988 and I alternately taught first and fourth grade at both Jefferson Elementary and Fisher Elementary for 8 years. I became a principal at Addams Elementary and served there for 12 years. I live in the Addams Elementary neighborhood and I continue to enjoy my interactions with students and families in the community. I am currently serving the district as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.

I have a daughter with 2 sons, ages 7 and 5 who live in Lansing (where I grew up). I have 2 sons, one lives in the area and the other is married and lives with his wife in Port Washington, New York, who just welcomed their first child this past fall.

My husband and I enjoy visits to the DIA and the Henry Ford as well as walking the trails at Kensington Metro Park.
