Mr. Kinsey's Message- 9/8/2019

Hello Families!

Pre-School parents the time is finally here.  Tomorrow, we will host our pre-school open house so that you have an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and hear and ask questions about your child’s pre-school program.  For those of you who have been with us in the past, you may already be aware that Mrs. Wyler and Mrs. Rhinehart will part of the pre-school program at Fisher Elementary, however, Jefferson is lucky enough have an experienced pre-school teacher, Mrs. Madden and our instructional coach Mrs. Shufeldt open our pre-school program this year.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 10 a.m.

You deserve a special thank you for making the first week of arrival and dismissal procedures run very smoothly.  An officer from the Redford police stated that we had one of the smoothest dismissals he has seen. We appreciate your support and patience as we work towards keeping our scholars safe.

NWEA testing began last Friday.  NWEA, often referred to as MAP, stands for Measure of Academic Progress.  This assessment is taken by second through fifth-grade students in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.  Students test in both mathematics and reading. Please make sure your child gets the proper amount of sleep each day and arrives on time each day so they are prepared and ready to do their best.

Finally, this Friday, Gleaners will be at our school from 1 to 3 p.m. The menu includes pulled pork, brown rice, peanut butter, fruits, vegetables, and many other items.  You are more than welcome to come to fill up a bag.

-Mr. Kinsey
