Free Wayne County Hearing and Vision Screenings

The Wayne County Department of  Health and Human Services has modified it's usual school-based screening program to meet the needs of our current time and will be offering appointments to complete free vision and hearing screenings for students.  To sign your child up please email:

  •  Michigan's Public Health Code actually requires a screening to occur sometime during the ages of 3-5?
  • 1 in 10 children has an undiagnosed eye problem that could lead to permanent vision loss
  • 1 i n10 children are at risk for hearing loss and that regular screenings can help catch and prevent long-term problems
  • This program can refer at-risk students to specialists for continued care
 
This great program allows students to continue to receive screenings on a regular basis throughout their elementary-aged years if they attend a public school. Please take advantage of this great program and sign up for your child to receive a free comprehensive screening conducted by fully trained technicians!
